Selling your home is a huge financial transaction. It always makes sense to hire a trusted real estate agent to represent you every step of the way.  Not only does a a qualified agent give your listing the most possible exposure on the open market, an agent also acts as your legal representation throughout the transaction.  With these important factors not withstanding, I realize the frustration sellers often feel when conceding up to 6% of a transaction going towards commission fees.  This is simply too much of your own equity to surrender.  While I always recommend offering 3% to the buying broker in a listing transaction, the Stapley team offers a 1% listing fee for almost all listing transactions (please ask for more details).  Rest assured, this 1% listing service still includes a full package of marketing and aggressive promotion of your home, including weekday open houses (when vacant), neighborhood mailers, and nearby business to business flyers and promotional material.
